• Research and documentation cell carries out research work from the Internet.
• It also keeps news cuttings on Issues of social significance from 18 national newspapers and 12
  magazines.
• The Research & Documentation Cell is basically focussed on Education, Literacy, Environmental, Human Rights, Women Issues etc
• This is a very important work, which can be used for research on social issues.
• To launch an NGO Forum on Social Issues

Major objectives

• To provide a resource Centre for research work on social issues.
• To provide for an Information Centre for Students of Social Work.
• To prepare status reports on Important social Issues.
• To document all events of social importance as reported in the Indian Media.

Activities undertaken

• News cuttings on Issues of social significance from 18 national news papers and 12 magazines.
• Work under progress to launch a Magazine on Social Issues consisting of articles already Published in the National Media.
• The Internet Centre has carried out publication and documentation of Reports available on the Internet on Social Issues.
• A National Directory of NGO’s being prepared by the Research and Documentation Cell.
• A handbook of all the Government Schemes on NGO’s being prepared.

Reports, Research, Workshops, Training

• Workshop for “Sex worker participation in fighting Child Prostitution in the Red Light Areas”. Sex workers from Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan participated.
• Workshop organized in Bharatpur for “Sensitization against Child prostitution” with the Bedia , Nat and Kanjar Tribals.
• Two day orientation programme ANM Nurses organized in Faridabad for HIV/AIDS.
• Several sensitization workshop conducted for the Police in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh by the Legal Aid Cell on Women and Child Issues.
• Five day Art appreciation and Photography workshop conducted with Children of Sarvodaya Public School.
• Youth Training Programme conducted for Youth Volunteers of Shakti Vahini at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
• National Level workshop conducted by Shakti Vahini on Human Rights. Morethan 50 NGO’s from all parts of the country participated.

Research Projects

• “The Prostituting Communities of India” - A indepth Research in the lives of the Bedia Nat and Kanjar Tribes of India.
• “Trafficking in South Asia, the legal loopholes” - this Research project exam-ines the various legal aspects of Trafficking of Women and Children in South Asia.
• “The situation of the Children of Women Prisoners in Haryana and UttarPradesh” .
• “The Staus of the Govt Schools in , Haryana”, a study on Primary education being imparted by Govt Schools.
• “Situational Analysis of Coerced Marriage Female Foeticide and human trafficking Haryana, Punjab.
